Ally, the owner of A Picnic Affair, recently coordinated a Bachelorette picnic with a coastal cowgirl theme for Amber and her bridal party. The event went beyond my expectations. I usually participate in about two styled shoots a year to network with industry peers and create content for my online platforms. This particular styled shoot was super affordable to attend yet featured numerous vendors and meticulous planning.
The color palette was made up of muted blues, tans and teal. It was an overcast afternoon where we had just missed a huge thunderstorm, but personally I thought the shades of gray in the sky helped draw attention to the analogous coloring.
Our host made sure to keep everything on track by moving us along so that we could get adequate time covering all of the various vendor contributions. Champagne pops and time to enjoy the charcuterie boards and cupcakes, there was even a flower bar in which the bridal party was able to make their own bouqets.
Since this was an evening event, after the sunset, I was able to whip out my trusty old speedlight for blue hour. Documentary style photography is super trendy right now, and adding a harsh direct flash really gives you that point and shoot aesthetic that all the gen z kids are going for these days. So, we had a lot of fun with that the last 10 minutes of the night. - Also, I need everyone to know that point and shoot becoming a trend is really stirring up some conficting emotions inside me (insert nervous laugh emoji)
All of the vendors who participated are local to our area and I've included their links below. They all really put the team on their backs with this one and I hope I get the pleasure of working with each of them again in the future. We couldn't have had such a georgous night without them.
